	Located in Dillenburg, Germany, Wolfgang Fey Saddlery produces some of the finest custom-made saddles, tack and leather goods. It’s our goal to combine both function and artistic eye appeal. Traditional craftsmanship, finest materials and uncompromising dedication to detail and quality, are the most important features leading to an extraordinary saddle.

It all starts with choosing the right saddletree. Our trees are handmade by saddletree makers of the USA and New Zealand. Each one built to your specifications, out of laminated wood and covered with rawhide.

Wolfgang Fey Saddlery uses all number 1 grade leather, tanned by Herman Oak Leather, the oldest and and most respected tanners of saddle skirting.
Even the best materials must be incorporated into a saddle correctly to produce a high quality finished product. This means that every part of a hide, according to its weight, density, grain and texture should be used only for determined parts of the saddle.

For example, the stirrup leathers need to be cut from a part of the hide based on an entirely different set of qualities than those for a fork cover. So every piece of leather is carefully selected, cut and finished by hand. All our saddles are lined with 1” thick genuine sheepskin.
All hardware is stainless steel, bronze or solid brass.

The leather ground seat is shaped to match the customer’s build and needs, providing the correct contour to fit the customer’s anatomy and style of riding.


	The saddle must meet a strict criteria for fit of horse and rider. The overall appearance may vary. Customer’s ideas and design will be transformed into a saddle to give it a one-of-a-kind look, with individual brands and logos, stamping or finely detailed tooling. Silver accents, handcrafted by selected silversmiths, compliment and add beauty to any leather item.

Our expertise is not limited to saddles. Wolfgang Fey Saddlery also creates belts, photo albums, briefcases, tack and accessoiries.
